Range Rovers can develop problems with their intake manifold gasket. This is a small and delicate, yet extremely important part of your car. If this begins to fail, it can lead to several other problems.
An intake manifold gasket is a fitted part with the vehicle’s engine that reduces the amount of air that leaks out during combustion. It also helps to regulate the temperature in the chamber. It is actually pretty simple to see where this part is installed under the hood. The intake manifold gasket is a series of small caps that sit directly on top of the main cylinder openings within the engine block. It is manufactured by either using metal or hard plastic.
As with any failing part within your vehicle, when the intake manifold gasket begins to fail it exhibits a few tell-tell signs. These include, but are not limited to:
When this specific part fails, it directly impacts your engine. It is crucial to get your car to a trusted auto technician as soon as you begin to notice a change in your vehicle performance. You may also notice the check engine light on your dashboard appear, if this happens do not ignore it. Seeking an immediate expert opinion can help to avoid causing further, more expensive damage.
At Masters European and Japanese Auto Repair, we pride ourselves in being the most sought-after Japanese and European auto service center in Mill Valley. In addition to Mill Valley, we also serve the community of Corte Madera, Larkspur, Sausalito, and Tiburon, CA.
Our auto repair shop is family-owned and operated by Keith Terstegge. He began work at his father’s shop at age nine. His love of European and Japanese vehicles sparked at a young age, and never left him.
Keith attended and graduated from the University of Alaska with a degree in Economics. The car fanatic in him could not stay quiet, though. He found himself back at the family auto repair shop, happily working alongside his father. Keith went on to inherit the family business from his father, Jim, who operated it for 40 years before.
Our building has a pretty unique history as well. It was built in 1928 and has been an auto repair shop ever since. Prior to the Golden Gate bridge being built, the community would have to pass this building on their travel route. They would often stop in for their vehicle maintenance needs.
